Rock Coring on the Shenandoah River. D50 on Small sectional barge.
Route 92 Bridge Project. D50 on small Sectional.
Beaver Creek Reservoir water depth of 45 feet. D50 on 40 X 21 sectional, 60 feet of spuds.
Provided Barges for a 2 year Drilling project with water depths ranging from 5 to 42 feet. Drillers continuously sampled to 200 feet utilizing both Sonic and Mud Rotary methods. Additional Barges were provided for Decon and moving materials, water, and drums to and from the Drill Rigs.
With very little Access we were able to get a Sectional barge in with a crane reaching 187 feet where nobody else could.
Access was a huge problem with riffles blocking navigation from upstream and down stream. A cobble bottom and Debris form the original civil war era bridge did not allow the spuds to set well in the river bottom. This coupled with the extreme current made staying on the hole complicated while drilling. Our skilled Captain was able to coordinate throttle and rudder adjustments with drilling to be sure the Drillers did not loose the Hole.
